Date: 20th July 2021
You are invited to join us on 20th July 2021 to discuss the emerging findings from a GCRF pilot project investigating gendered perspectives on non-conflict violence and climate change interactions in cities. Over a 5-month period, researchers across three countries have been examining how such risks overlap and compound vulnerability in low-income communities in Karachi, Pakistan; Nairobi, Kenya and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Panellists from all organisations involved in the project will discuss how they have applied methodologies and concepts from the fields of both urban climate adaptation and urban violence research to address the complexities of capturing the data and understanding their multiple inter-connections. Representatives from UN-Habitat and UNDP will then join the panel in an open discussion about the implications for change in policy and practice.
